Groundfish (cod/winter skate & Yellow-tailed Flounder) are bycatch species for the Canadian scallop fleet and cause a choke issue that is becoming more acute with time. Clearwater is investigating the impact of Pisces lights on bycatch. Comparative trawls are conducted with and without Pisces to understand how artificial light influences the behaviour of fish and subsequently bycatch.
